So, I'm getting new fairings for my duc, and have noticed that the underbelly is especially prone to scratches/rock chips/etc....
What kind of tape could I use over the paint that won't cause any damage? I've seen people use masking tape, but is that REAAAAAAAAALLY my only option here?

I know some cars come from the factory with a thick clear vinyl sticker on certain parts like door jambs and shit. maybe you could find that?

The biggest problem I can see me running in to is that it has to be thick, and heat is a huge factor when the front cylinder header wraps around down there.

Probe - I do need to wrap my header..... but I know I'm going to buy a leo vince full as soon as I can find one for a good price/I have money again.

thank fucking god.
on the agenda for tonight:
finalize and doublecheck work on 4 sets of rebuilt carbs
figure out what the fuck is wrong with cb400 carbs
reinstall tank in goldwing. (then suspension, wheels, faux tank, etc...)
possibly address wiring issue on goldwing
^^^ probably about 12 hours worth of work nonstop.
then I get to clean out the garage and prep for Joey's K3 build.
This includes removing both goldwings, one of which has a flat front tire and no rear wheel/suspension
removing 2 xs650 motors
relocating a 6 ft shelf of xs650 parts (basically 2 full bikes)
remove all large tools like air compressor, media blaster, carts etc...
clean - remove plywood, vacuum and roll carpet, hose concrete, let dry and replace everything then re-cover floor.
then ptfo (if there's time left to sleep.)
