Cycle whore thread

Re: Cycle whore thread
I'm about to pull the motor and hunt for that tappet adjuster nut.
while it's off I'm
- pulling the transmission and polishing the (hog cut) gears
- possibly removing the starter (I'll just use kick start)
- balancing the pistons / rods (maybe getting new ones instead)
- new piston rings
- honing the cylinders
- all new gaskets / oil seals
- lapping the valves (possibly replacing)
- new HD valve springs
- all new engine case bolts and HD cyl studs
- new clutch plates
- HD clutch springs
- checking all gears and shift fork for damage/wear and replace as necessary
- new HD timing chain
once it's cleaned out and assembled I'll be getting started on the other parts of my little project:
- new dyna electronic ignition
- iridium plugs + wires
- solid state regulator/rectifier
- all new wiring with weather proof harnesses/connectors
- smaller battery
- all balls steering baring and wheel bearings
- swingarm needle bearing conversion + new bushings
- stainless steel braided brake lines
- bigger master cyl
- dual disc conversion to front, single disc on rear
- new fork springs + add air caps to forks
- swap spoked wheels for comstars
- clip-on handlebars (although I may just use the clubmans that I've got)
- cafe 1-up seat
Most of these parts I already have, they're just waiting to be put on.
I may also be swapping the stock forks for gsxr forks and putting some modern tubeless wheels on it along with a single disc modern brake on both front and rear to reduce unsprung weight and increase stopping ability. This really depends on $$ and whether or not certain people ever get back to me.
Here's my Christmas wish list. All the stuff I want but can't afford yet:
- Yoshi rep. exhaust
- port heads and bore cyl out to 836cc (tune my already capable keihin CR specials accordingly)
- ape 836 kit (836cc forged pistons, billet cam, hd valve springs, titanium retainers, adjustable cam sprockets, and heavy duty cylinder studs.)
- bronze valve guides
- carrillo rods
- Tarozzi rearsets
- Dyna 2000
- electronic speedo + tach (run from dyna 2000)
- cycle-x single phase alternator (although I'm worried about roasting some reg/rec)
Wish me luck! If anyone can offer any support or is just curious about this project let me know. I'd be glad to keep you updated and in the loop.

Re: Cycle whore thread
We all still ride all the time.
Let me know if you want to do that stuff... I have all that sitting in my garage... Don't know if I want to get rid of my ss lines... but I have a couple sprocket kits.
