Re: Honda Ruckus / Scooter Thread
First pic:
I know the ground is wet, but the moped is dry. Yes, it is in that good of shape. It only had 320 miles on it in that photo. It now has 952 and counting.
Only CONS: The bolt in the rear fender was loose and came out on it's first long ride (RIC airport to Hooters on Broad St.) I havn't put another one in because 1) I'm lazy and 2) I've been focusing in on the Ruckus so I can go ride with these queers in the 757. The soft bungee is holding it just fine
It has a nick on the front fender (size of a pencil eraser, look in the second photo)
No one makes jets for it any more so it runs like poop (rich) when it's hot, but it will still do 20-25. The way the weather is now it runs damn good, right at about 30 on the speedo, which last I checked, was 2 mph slow.
Fix for the jets would be buying another carb ($100-$300 depending on your choice) that you can still find jets for. The delorto on Danimal's bike is one of the more popular and will take conical filters.
Like with ANY old moped and some new, you have to keep the tank full or it will rust. Sure you can go normal distances, but ever EVER leave it sit for any period of time without being full.
PROS: It is all original right down to the tires and tubes (no dry rot) EXCEPET for the pet-cock (fuel switch, it is genuine, it's just not the original one) and the fuel filter/new fuel line I added. It starts every time, the first time. When I say ALL original, I mean it still has the tool kit and air pump that came with it from the factory.
It has a super sweet custom milk crate cut just for the rear rack.
