you need to start with a dirt bike 250cc... seriously ive seen way too many girls lay down bikes, then sell it cause they got a couple scratches.. or ride someone elses bike for awhile before you go out and buy one.. and get your damn license

im taking my class on oct 20. and as far as using someone else's bike...i WISH. haha. I've got my step-dads harley that he said he'd let me practice on...in our driveway, he wont let me take it out. haha

how tall are you? the reason i ask is because Kawi, gsxr, are on the big side while hondas, and yamaha are better for shorter people. A good newby bike is a Suzuki SV650, and the new Kawi ZX650 they are both V-twins which have torque in the lower power band and they are both confident inspiring. If your set on a inline 600 I would suggest an 600 anything before 03' those bikes are still fast but are managable, fairly cheap, and they have parts for them on ebay. My 2 cents
