Need Tech help Please LOOK!
Alright i have a 97 SRAD 600. I am only like 5'7" 5'8" but i wiegh about 230 . Anyways b/c of my shortness i lowered the bike with dogbones. The susp. is setup fairly frim but good for my weight. The problem is that my under tail was rubbing. well it was rubbing in the front( side toward the motor) so i figured i would just trim some of it off. Now this worked and it only minorly rubs if i hit a very large bump. The thing is my wife likes to ride with me and she cant with the current setup. She is a light girl like 110-115. Currently my undertail is a euro fiber glass one. What im wondering is i could have a metal or fiber one custom made to allow more clearence? Like make the curve deeper? If anyone has any suggestions please help? Thanks

just adjust the setup you have(stiffness of suspension or move the dog bones up one notch)before you go out and spend money on something you maynot need
if you would like i will give you a hand

he must, i'm about 5'8" and can flat foot that bike just fine.. i'd raise it up slightly like he said, or i usually don't recommend this, and i'm not sure if it has the same rim as the 750 like the current 600's do, but alot of guys put a 190/50 rear tire on there and that SHOULD theoretically give you another 5mm over clearance and another 5mm lower, not much but it might be enough, although you'll give up some handling and it may not fit, but a thought

No offense, but subframes (what your seat sits on) are only rated to handle x amount of weight. It won't matter what suspension set up you use if you are over that limit with a passenger. Hitting a large bumb and bending your subframe I'm sure wouldn't be fun.
Check to see what yours is rated for.

he should be fine regardless of what its rated for, i know guys way bigger than him with girlfriends much bigger than his and i've never heard of a bent subframe other than in a wreck... maybe if both of them were closer to the 500 lbs range each then i might worry
and your weight isn't really the problem, i would lower my 2003 gsxr(newer stiffer suspension) for the drag strip and i weigh only 135 lbs, so i would load the suspension less than you, and my undertail still rubbed, so if your bigger than me and your suspension is softer and has more miles on it i'd definetly expect for your undertail to rub if its lowered
