speedo's are over rated. I haven't had a bike with any guages in probably 10 or 12 years. Never gotten pulled for speeding (knock on wood). Just go with the flow of traffic and you're usually fine.
if you want a nice guage setup, that's small and pretty cheap, check out the acewell setups. They work pretty well, and are alot better than a bicycle speedo. Those tend to lag, alot.
as far as the forks, that's personal preference. I dig black forks, just depends on the bike. My new ride actually has shaved/polished forks, but I'm building this one to be relatively "non-rat" looking. I'm sure it'll end up looking as worn as my last one after I beat on it for a while though

I will make that desicion after i ride the bike this week.. I will for sure lower the rear more. Possibly today or tomorrow

So, i sprayed the engine with heat resistant paint... but it doesnt match what i had done before and i happen to like better... So tonight i will sleep on it and tomorrow i will either spray regular paint over the high heat or, spray the pulley cover with the paint i used on on the engine cover.
SO, i had ordered some never dull and it came in today... In this picture you can see (to the left) about 2-3 minutes worth of work on the wheel.. to the right nothing... i will be doing this until my handlebars and seat gets here. . . The seat actually got here today but i missed the fed ex truck and they're gonna have to deliver tomorrow.. The bars are off the bike just waiting for the new ones to get here an set sail...
SO, today i also cut another coil on the rear springs.. I like where the bike sits now... I also had to cut the side stand, which needs a little more cutting... Also, i wondered what it would look like with some clubman bars.. OHHH i took off the gauges.. In addition to that, i want to mount the head light lower..
