it's not the width, it's the profile that makes it turn "slower". a 180 on a 5.5 rim has a more pointy profile than a 190 on the same rim.

uh, what the hell are you riding that has a "155" on it??
and the reason it turns slower going up that far on tire width is probably because if the rear was a "155" (which i've never heard of) and you went to a 170, then you put a tire on a rim that it wasn't designed for. going too wide can kill handling if you don't run a rim that's the proper width too.

Well fellas as of right now I am not even worried because I have decided to sell the bike.... I am going to put the 180 on it and let her go!!!! Need to money to make more money.....

a 98 katana rear wheel is only 4.5" wide, and comes with a 160 on it. i've never heard of a 155.
also, i know the 170 fits, but it "squares off" the tire, and makes handling a lil worse. but if you're not out cranking double digit exit ramps, you probably wouldn't notice much.
