turning is different when changing tires. wider tires lean a bit slower.

pilot powers are cool just dont do wheelies on them in the first 5 miles like my dumbass did and end up jumping off the bike.

it's not the width, it's the profile that makes it turn "slower". a 180 on a 5.5 rim has a more pointy profile than a 190 on the same rim.

this is true. but going from a 155 to a 170 my bike turns slower. leans farther but gets there slower.

uh, what the hell are you riding that has a "155" on it??

and the reason it turns slower going up that far on tire width is probably because if the rear was a "155" (which i've never heard of) and you went to a 170, then you put a tire on a rim that it wasn't designed for. going too wide can kill handling if you don't run a rim that's the proper width too.

With the 180/55 you will be able to make transitions quicker..... Thats what I race on.

94 katana, and i switched the wheel to a 98 katana to go with said tire. fits great.

a 98 katana rear wheel is only 4.5" wide, and comes with a 160 on it. i've never heard of a 155.

also, i know the 170 fits, but it "squares off" the tire, and makes handling a lil worse. but if you're not out cranking double digit exit ramps, you probably wouldn't notice much.
