carb cleaner is fine, just blow thru all the jets with compressed air and make sure they're spotlessly clean

Did you transport the bike in a truck or on a trailor? If you did, but forgot to turn the gas off, then check the oil. If the oil smells like gas then change it and get new plus and it should fire. I had this problem after I bought my old carb'd ZX6R and that fixed it right up.
But Skrooz is the man on bikes here, so this is only a suggestion

well, if there's oil in the gas, you have more problems than just no starting. the only way gas gets in the oil is if the float valves aren't shutting off the fuel flow like they should. the gas overflows the carbs, fills the valve pockets, and leaks down past the valve seats, past the rings, and into the oil. not good. usually you'd know it though b/c 9 times out of ten the bike would liquid lock when you tried to start it.
just out of curiosity, are you sure your getting gas to the carbs?

i don’t think there is any fuel getting to the carbs, i pulled the line from the fuel pump to the carbs and there wasn’t much fuel in it and only 2 carbs had gas in the bowls
i tried running a line from the tank direct to the carbs but that didn't work.
the book i have says the fuel pump is vacuum driven i took it apart and cleaned it but no luck.
the fuel valve from the tank has pri/res/on positions gas doesn’t pour out from anyone of them, gas only pours out half way between on/pri. Is this normal?
i tried starting is on pri/res/on none of them worked
I guess I’m not getting enough vacuum to suck the gas out of the tank or something
ideas?
