Was the set up clayed to make sure there was no piston to valve/ piston to head clearance issues?

yes all clearences were checked by the machine shop that put it together. i also dropped a head on it without clay on my own and turned the crank and there was no contact.. also along with the cometic headgasket it will drop the compression enough to run pump gas. the hg is a cometic .51 its about 1.9mm thick
