any engine thats boosted, dosent matter if its a 7:1 or a 12:1, needs to be tuned, if not your just asking for trouble, only thing lower comp does is allow you to run higher boost, so if your running a boosted high comp motor you could get away safely with 6-7 psi tuned and be making great power!!!

actually there are plenty of stock 11:5 JDM itr engines out there on boost, the key to any good turbo setup is a tune, there was just a boosted b16 making 380 on race with ctr pistons still holding strong.
