anyways, just curious if new registration is disabled for a while, or if its just a temporary thing while the mods/admins sort out a new system. I know someone who tried to register today and it wouldn't let him. Just curious how long that will last

As for the registrations being disabled I can't give a time, only that it will hopefully be sooner rather than later.
Wow, that was nice and vague

I wonder what that shit was about. Oh well I'm for this trial user stage because I hate the idiots that have ruined this board.

10 to 1 that it's just an oopsie on our (read: my) part. There is a list of banned IP addresses, and every once in a while, someone's IP by chance happens to change to one that's on the ban list. I try to clear the list on occassion, but yeah. My bad.
And new registrations are off for the time being. It'll get turned back on once I have things set up more concretely with an AOL TOS rep to deal with trolls (hence the newest user).
As for user reputations... uh. I'll let Eng deal with that because I know exactly nil about it.

on one of the other forums i frequent (not sure which one... i think it's a 300z board) there's a rule where you can't post in the for sale section until you have proven yourself as a worthwhile member of the community. The mod/admin then gives you permission.
this might be an idea for us... i know it would be a lot of work, but the majority of the idots come from the for sale/wanted section, so perhaps putting restrictions might deter them because they won't want to be bother proving themselves?
