Re: $50 paint job
ya it comes out pretty sweet. my car is just primer spray painted right now, so anything is better than that.
unless you have painting skills you may have to pay somebody to do it for you, or just go to maaco

Re: $50 paint job
Honestly, I've seen a couple of old trucks that have been paint rolled. Kinda a cool flat texture to it, and if done properly, doesn't look like shit.
I wouldn't do it to a newer car, but if I had an old beater/toy car, I would.

Maaco Ambassador paintjob only $250 right now
or you could spend $15 of that $50 on spraypaint at Home Depot and paint it any crazy colors/schemes you want. I was thinking about spraypainting my last civic lime green, but decided to just go with a glossy black, looked pretty damn nice for being $15, and hell, I saved myself from spending an extra $250 on a $750 car.

Re: $50 paint job
It's cheap, and it's not a alternative to a quality paint job, but if its for a POS car you don't care about then yeah, sure go for it.
I painted my dads bucket truck w/ 1k paint. Tractor grade paint is by far the most durable 1k paint you can buy, its pretty cheap @ ~30 a gallon too. You can pick it up @ TSC (Tractor Supply Co). I recommend mixing in some hardener also. John Deere Blitz Black is actually a beautiful paint and a lot of hot rod guys like to use it. Do a google search and you can read up on it on the hotrod forums if your interested.

Re: $50 paint job
I did this a few years ago..
I used a pint of black enamel paint from Home Depot, and pretty much just caked it on. Theres some orange peel, but it'll work if you just want something other than flat black. I'm pretty sure I only spent $10 on this.
