Any one in Nova/alexandria can help me? surging idle
Its been two weeks since ihave this symtom. i havent driven my car much and ive thought it would be the Iacv all along, ive bought two from civics but it seems not to be the case. Well ill it started since i bought another intake manifold the one on previously broke but the symtom didnt start till two weeks later wiht the high/surging idle. I cant seem to find whats the problem. i check vaccume leaks. i just dont know man. its a 99 jdm itr motor in a ek. ive never had a problem with this motor, ive had it close to three years so far.
I almost feel dumb to come on othis board and ask. its almost an invitation for someone to steal my car but i need help from someone wiht experience thats on this board and in this region of Va. Ive taken it to a mechanic he doesnt know jack about swap motor and i dont want to leave my car there, gonna cost me an arm and a leg for leavin the car for two days.
any help info owuld happily appreciated.

try checking your iac valve on the back of the intake manifold. Unplug the sensor, if the idle goes to normal its the iacv. What kind of throttle body do you have? Do you have a fast idle valve on it? If so try to change the tb if you can,
some time the fast idle valve goes bad for no reason.

Re: Any one in Nova/alexandria can help me? surging idle
sorry dudes i havent came on here for awhile, and didnt think someone would respond. Man i am totally clueless, I'm never messing wiht my car ever again once i get this fix. IM selling my cams, hondata, camgears all on ebay now. So i can have some funds for the meantime. and hopefully drop all new oem gaskets and be done for, for this car.
I am guessing and hoping that it is the intake manifold gasket. Because i bought an ebay knock off of the hondata gasket, two weeks later idled like crap out of nowhere. I got someone from radley acura to check it out free of charge. They seem clueless but they say to just back track and GO buy oem NEW iacv and intake manifold gasket and come back. Because when they did pull the tps sensor or iacv plug the idle WENT HIGHER, and should drop in idle. They try to adjust the throttle body screw, where they say it should release pressure or move the mechanism on the iacv?, that didnt work. Right now they retarded the timing all the way just being safe.
And no i dont have a cell.
I ran into two mechanics recently and they question the throttle body being stock or not? i mean it is stock but wtf?. i will take some pics tomorrow, can you guys identify if this is a Type R.

no its a 99 obd2 motor in a ob2 vehicle. THis crap is making me crazzzzzzzzzy. still no clue, if i had deep pocket i will take it out to a shop by now. bought new oem P73 intake mani gasket. same problem. ima go tomrorw to my boys work at honda at tysons he has a type r and see if it changes if i use his Iacv. Thats the only problem i can think of everythings bolted on tight, nothing loose. if that doesnt work then ill have to shed the cash and head to inlinepro. I will definitly let you guys know the update
