for the OP: go to a temp agency. unemployment in the DC Metro area is down below 2% (less than half of the national average) so they're always looking for people to work. I work for a contract engineering staffing company and they told us that shit.

$10 / hour is not that bad. i get $9 still livin payin my bills still not quite enough to buy car parts, but still going.
