Whats wrong with a rb swap? whats wrong with a sr20det swap. Whats wrong with a c18det swap. All of these swaps alot of people do. If he wants RB let him get a RB. personaly i dont like the rb series motors but thats just me. Personaly i love the vg30dett ALOT!!! and the vq35. When the vq is sleeved and built it will make great power boosted but at the sametime the vg30dett is a strong motor in stock form and will hold over 500hp. There is a guy who has a 240 that ran the vg30dett but converted it to single turbo (why i dont know but hey it looks cool) I think it should of stayed twins but thats me again.

I want the rb25 because skylines have been my dream car for as long as I can remember, and I would be very happy if i could have the r33 engine in my car. Not so much for bragging rights, more for personal satisfaction . And the reason I dont go ka-t is because it's a lot easier for me to find a cheap, high milage 240 then it is to find a nice low milage one. I'de rather put a nice low milage (hopefully) engine into a 240. And I am learning about the rb right now, why do you think I made this thread. I wanted to know the best shop around here so I can call them and ask them any of the questions I had that didn't get answered online. And once I get my 240 I'm going to be driving it around for a while, I'm not going to do the swap the second I get the car.

But can anybody tell me before hand how much labor might cost? I will call some shops and ask them, but it would be much appreciated if somone could give me some sort of estimate here. I know the rb25det front clip will run around $2500 - $3000

I can wire up the RB25 swap into an S13 for you if you need it done. I'll do it for half the price all of these professionals ask for.

But yeah, go for an RB25det. The power is great down low and up top. It has variable valve timing on the intake cam to also aid top end. Turbo lag is very minimal compared to an SR. And the stock turbo has a T3 (SR T2) flange so upgrading is cake.

don't fuck with an RB. They are a waste of time and money...
Figure $9k once you get the wiring and all the custom fabrication done.
just drop it off at "that shop in norfolk" and get an SR dumped into that shit..
you'll be money ahead.

An RB motorset or front clip is only a few hundred dollars more than a SR. $9k? Are you serious. $9k will get you a fully built RB that'll run 10's maybe. All you really need is around 3-4k to get a running swap depending on prices for parts if you do it yourself. If you have a shop doing the swap add $1-2k. And there's no custom fabbing with a RB25 swap. Motor mounts, transmission crossmembers, and driveshafts are readily available from many sources.
