if car theft is so bad around here. Should'nt there be new laws passed to prevent them? like having harsher punishments for thieves who gets caught in the act? Im sure if the fines or penalty is more severe than thieves will think twice before stealing. I think I saw on the news that in D.C cops cant even chase car thieves. Im sure a new law or whatever is not easy to pass but I think its doable as long as there is support for it. I say end this car theft BS once in for all.

DC has a gun ban law, but people still get shot there. VA has made DUI laws more strict, but people keep drinking and driving. Increasing punishments is only a temporary fix.

don't drive a car that attracts theives like a civic with jdm parts. My civic got broken in to over 10times and almost stolen few times.
My mazdaspeed protege hasn't been touched and more fun to drive.

Punishment isn't usually the answer. In california, it's a bigger crime to street race than it is to get a DUI. I wish they would crush the drunks cars instead of my cars.

I bought a beatup ford escort for a Daily driver. It was only $500. That way, I won't get any unwanted attention in my camaro, unless I bring it upon myself. It's too bad camaro's rarely get broken into, considering how ridiculously easy it is.

yea but I would assume that every little bit counts. If harsher laws were passed im sure theives will think twice before stealing a car or atleast the numbers will drop somewhat.

haha, ya but the death penalty procedure takes way too long, the government should invest in a program where they used tactics like in SAW or like Hostel.... or even make some entertainment out of it, like having them fight to the death....now THAT would stop crime

I've had my car since 98 with no thefts or break ins. I say if you want to do this type of stuff to your car, protect it anyway you can. Thats different for different people.
