Re: 4x4 Off Topic Thread
beside the blazer which is small, not to big, dont get and expidition, no disrespect to who has one, but they are not gas saver, capable yes, not a fan of imports, but on the truck side, is a little different, a diesel you have to know how they work and be able to work on them if not they are not cheap taking them to a shop
for power on gas a chevy or ford, and 50 50 on economy depend on how you treat it or drive it, also parts are relative cheap compare to import
they are some good deal out there, just have to have pations and it will come to you
and once you get your ride, if you need some help ask, there is never a stupid question, is stupid not to ask

Re: 4x4 Off Topic Thread
the only reason i asked about the zr2 blazer is because it comes with the off road package from the factory which is the same as the z71 package on the pickups. id perfer to stay chevy as i am a chevy guy (stupid i know but lets face it we all like our own trucks). i saw a couple zr2s for realitively cheap ~5k range for a 2000 model.
Ladder-type Frame with modified mounting points
100mm wider track (3.9 inches wider than regular S-10)
Increased ground clearance (Approx 3" over Regular S-Series 4x4)
Enhanced front (7.25" ring gear) and rear (8.5" ring gear) axles w/ 3.73:1 rear-axle ratio
Larger wheel and axle bearings
31 x 10.50" BFG A/T Tires (Pickup), 31 x 10.50" BFG Longtrails (Blazer)
46mm gas pressurized Bilstein Monotube shocks
Rear track bar (pickup), front anti-sway bar (blazer)
Skid plates
Front/rear disc brakes (1998-2005), disc/drum brakes (1994-1997)
The wheel length is longer than a 4X4 by 1.6 feet
i know all of you know more then me about this stuff but this is what the zr2 package came with from factroy so it seems to me this would be my best opiton since i would have to do minor stuff to get it ready to go. plus it will be a good starter vehical. again any input is appriciated.

Budget? id like to keep it under 6k if possible. almost
1/2 ton, 3/4 ton or 1ton truck? which one would be better? check, 1 ton
Gasser/Diesel? probally gas, but diesel would be nice. diesel
Use? just be able to have some fun with it on the weekend/ late nights. im not looking for a rock crawler just something i can get in the mud and not get stuck. check
MPG? anything over 10 mpgs would be great lol check, i meet your minimum, barely
Trail Riding? Logging roads, mudpits? i guess trail riding and maybe small mud pits? idk i have never been on too many trails and i dont plan on going in any deep mud wholes for now (nothing over 3-4 inches at least) check, no problem for it
yeah but i just want something that is more daily but can get in the mud with out having to be towed out. check
