why does everyone say you have to be 21 to buy it. you can buy a handgun or a pistol grip shotgun at 18 if it is from a private seller.

It has a folding stock. So it is not considered a pistol gripe even tho it does fold up.

this is true.. you can buy this from an FFL at 18, just like you can AR's, GSG's, AK's
