yeah they're actually pretty great little things. not very peppy, or anything great in particular, but they're all around good and awesome starter bikes.

 

Fuel injected, and not too big for her. She apparently wants to ride to work. I'm not letting her on the road until she has been "riding with me" for at least 6 months. I want her to be prepared for the retard infested death trap we call lynchburg traffic.

 

so, horror and dismay.

I was out in the garage installing some no-cut frame sliders i'd had lying around. I'd gotten to the part where you're supposed to start tightening everything down. I put the torque wrench on the first of the case bolts on the right side and start slowly working my way up to 15 pounds... all of a sudden, i hear a pop and the wrench goes slack.

yeah, I stripped out a few threads on that hole.

looks like with the spacers and the washer and the plate, and everything else, I was only engaging the outer 3 or 4 threads and 15 pounds was enough th break them.

on the bright side, the stock bolt still threaded into the hole and seemed to tighten down okay once I blew all of the debris out of the hole. I'll probably put a little loctite on that one just as some added security

long story short, I'm going to skip installing them

 

Oh lawd.

What kind of crack whore torque wrench do you have?

Finally after 3 weeks my bar end mirrors made it in!
