Why do squids dangle their feet when pulling away from a stop?

I see this pretty often... it doesn't make any sense to me.

I do that on the Ruckus. I guess for me its just habit. I catch myself doing it sometimes on the shadow too.

Probably from when I first started riding. in case I needed to put my feet back down for whatever reason I guess.

I can be curious if I want too!

I find it harder to ride with my feet down. It forces me to put too much weight on the bars, and thereby making the bike less stable.

They do it because they aren't experienced enough to ride the clutch at ultra low speeds with their feet up. So feet stay down and they 'look cool'.

I've also noticed that the danglers also tend to have 3 inches of unused rubber on the rear tire.

I don't believe "chicken strips" make you a bad rider; hanging off far enough does wonders... but 3 inches of wasted tire?

I have noticed myself doing that from time to time... I feel its just me being lazy to be honest; other than that I don't know why I do it.

Secondly i'll be the first one to tell you i'm too chicken shit to lean but so far. The last inch or so stays so fresh so clean... it makes me sad inside though.
