Hell, he could REALLY get crazy with it....
Swap in a buick 3.8....Its been done.
and if that little V6 can push a 3600 LB car down the track in the high 9's, it sure as hell can make an X7 move out.

Re: Rx7 work in progress (FC)
Proper 20b and dual 13b builds aren't in my price range. The only person ive ever spoken to about a four rotor build told me had was having an issue with apex seals expanding at high rpms and causing issues, this is already going to be an expensive project and i don't want to deal with a rebuild just because im learning. The only place i have found a kit for converting two 13b engines over to a single was 9 grand. Any rotary that i would purchase, i would rebuild before dropping it in, seals and gaskets for these motors aren't cheap. I'm not interested in pre mixing for reliability either. I chose an rx7 because of the handling, and ls1 doesn't hurt it that badly. Cosmos engines come stock with a sequential setup and cost about as much as a decent condition ls1, add on the exhaust manifold to convert to na , injectors, fuel management, streetport, etc. I may be missing stuff or looking into it a bit to much but i dont think a rotary swap is for me.

You don't have to boost to make power. You just have to add rotors.
Here's a 4-rotor naturally aspirated FD:

Why anyone would want a V8 after hearing that is beyond me.
