Tuning ITBS sucks...
As for the setup I would prob get a blockguard put in; even though its a high comp motor. Its a safe extra 100$ bucks to spend as long as it gets done correctly.
Also Do not cheap out on a header; Ive seen many good builds only to have people run out of cash and run a dcsports p.o.s header.

well seeming as the build isnt going to be cheap, I def dont want to dump 6-800 on a header. im going to do a little research on some of the custom all motor drag car setups used and see what I can design. fabbing is way cheaper, im just afraid im going to fuck up and kill power, or just not get what I could out of it
With a better than average header, you could easily see 10-15hp gains. and also add skunk2 to the list of awesome headers. you should google the skunk2 header shoot out, you'll be impressed.

Re: for honda guys
as for the itb's, I would LOVE to have an itb motor, but as stated I dont want to run into major tuning issues. ive heard a lot of poeple say go for it it wont be a prob, and a lot of people say dont even bother. as for the header, im looking into fabricating my own header. I was an areospace titanium welder for a while and can tig pretty well so that would be a good project for me

Re: for honda guys
I recommend using some Skunk2 pro series cams. They generally work great in my experience. Make sure you get them degreed though...well any aftermarket cams for that matter.

Re: for honda guys
Welding the header will not be a problem at all. I will also look into the skunk2 header design. I have been browsing my c/r options and now I'm not sure if I wanna go a lil higher than 12.7, will going to 13 or 14 benifit me much more?

Not tryin to thread jack or anything, but I'm doin my first build and it's gona be all motor. I've been doin a lot of research but I had a few questions that you or some else could help answer for me.
What is the stock CR for a b18b1??
What would be a good piston or CR to run in an all motor DD??
And last, Someone told me u could use vtec internals in a Non-vtec head, is this true??
Thanks for the help, and sorry for using your thread to ask these questions..
