Re: 4g63 turbo motor issues
I just had this same problem with my Brothers car, only it is a 420a. I had to let it run with the radiator cap off and Burp the system to get all the air out of it! Runs fine and works Great now If you ever have this problem just turn the a/c or blower motor on inside the car and it will kick the secondary fan for a little more cooling until you can get it home and fixed....

Re: 4g63 turbo motor issues
That's a fairly common problem with most makes of cars. Bi-metal thermostats are pretty much the same no matter what. You'd think "well, it's sticking open, it should cool pretty well", but it sticks partially open and won't open fully so there isn't enough coolant flow. It's barely better than not opening at all; it doesn't matter how much it opens (or doesn't open) if it can't cool the car properly.
Randomly, most of the thermostat problems I've had are the opposite. They t-stat sticks fully open and then the car takes a long time to come up to temp. Especially fun when that happens in the winter, because then you have no heat for a long time and you have to fix a cooling system problem when it's cold as shit in the garage.
Glad it's fixed..!

this is an easy fix, just never stop!! to hell with red lights, stop signs and traffic... but seriously, sounds like a fan problem. wiggle the fan while off, and make sure it doesnt move around much....
