This was never a test that I learned. But it sounds very pluasible and I like it. Parasitic draw test assumes that you have no major elec. failures. Like you said, the "customer" has not given the full story. That and we don't have the car sitting in the shop or yard for some real "hands on".

Of course it's plausible. It's basic, fundamental electrical theory.

Checking resistance at that point isn't used very often because there usually isn't any need for it. Or you really hope there isn't any need for it.

I had the same issue and it turns out that I simply fried the battery I had with charger I used at the time. I bought a new battery and automatic charger this time and have not had any issues since.
