Re: So, im kinda building a bobber.. HELP ME!...
Well, it sucked, but i got the little things to come off. . . But now im stuck again...
I took the internals out of the forks and then these two guys in order to get to the fork seal.
As far as im concerned the fork tube and body should just be able to separate if you jank them appart... (Which btw is not happening)
This is where im at (i think that's the seal)
How do i get that to come out? There's a tiny coil thing in the middle of it. But i dont want to stick a screw driver in there and damage it. . . Please enlighten me once again.

next time, once you get the dust seal and the clip off the fork seal, take out the bottom bolt that holds the damper rod in place, then take off the fork caps, then grab the fork tube in one hand, and the fork lower in the other, and pull them apart REAL hard, like you're pulling a sword out of it's sheath. Usually, a few times doing that will pop the seal right out.
by the way, if you want to lower them internally, now is the perfect time. It's pretty simple to do.

oh, and that video won't work for 99.9% of the forks out there. Normally you CAN"T pull the tube out of the fork with the dust seal and clip in place. There's a bushing under the seal that won't let that happen.

Re: So, im kinda building a bobber.. HELP ME!...
yeah, i figured that the hard way. lol..
I spent quite some hours on them forks today, then i just had to put them aside cause i forgot the oil.. But i guess that's a good thing cause I have got a few questions for you.
1. How do i lower the front internally?
2. How much oil do i put in?
3. Any special techniques to put the cap on?.. I imagine that with oil its gonna be hard as fuk!\
4. Do you like jello?

dude, no bullshit, the third pic on your OP, where the bike has no rear shocks...
it looks fucking sick.
Leave the rear shocks off, make it a hardtail. rattle bomb it olive drab green, open the pipes and convert it to a jokey shift.
INSTANT win.

im broke man!!! I'd rather have a low ass bike with a hard tail, but i simply cannot afford. it...
I've seen bobbers where they just bolt piece of steel in place of the shocks and make it a hardtail that way.. I wonder if they sell those things..
