Re: 4x4 Off Topic Thread
does anyone have a good idea on where I can get a set of 275/70/18 MTs for cheap?
not craigslist or anything.... I'm looking for new tires for my truck since the trails here in Colorado have chewed up my stock street tires.
the cheapest I've seen here is $1100 installed ugh.

Discounttire.com has decent deals on A/T tires.
4x4groupbuy.com had a set of M/T tires for $1150

Re: 4x4 Off Topic Thread
so putting a feeler out there...
I am most likely selling my truck soon... I love the thing to death... but I can sell it here in Colorado for around $18,000 (when I only paid $12,500)... plus I drive less than a mile commute to work, and its annoying to always have to plug my truck in during the Colorado cold (which is like 7 months out of the year)
I'm debating on picking up a 2005+ Nissan Xterra or an 05+ Jeep Grand Cherokee in replacement for my truck... and I'm looking to see opinions on each....
this is what I'm looking for in my next truck:
1. 4 door, newer, lower miles, high reliability, a comfortable interior, and the capability to tow 1-2 motorcycles.
2. decent off road capability (I'm planning a trip to MOAB with a few buddies here in May - June)
3. I'm looking to put 32 - 33 inch tires on it with a ~3inch lift
4. something with enough power to get out of its own way but still maintains around 20mpg highway
I'm leaning more towards the Xterra because you can put 285s on them with around 3 inch lift, they already have a nice roof rack, and they have a larger interior than the WKs... plus I believe the V6 in the X is a better bang for my buck than the v6 in the WK....
but I'm still open to opinions... I know someone on here has a really nice black Xterra I've seen....
Thanks in advance guys

I don't know much about the 2nd gens other than you can fit 285s without any lift at all.. you just have to heat up a bump-out in the plastic in the fender well behind the front tires and push it flat with a hammer or whatever.. then they clear without rubbing
I think its dyoungin(sp?) that has the black Xterra
