i am comparing engines, not cars. To its credit, im willing to bet it is tuned down for insurance and other reasons. There is no reason for it be worse than 17 year old technology.

It doesn't matter if it carries a quad-turbo V-12, it can't be faster than BMW's bread and butter (current generation M3) on paper. That's why it's only 300 horsepower.

Actually I'm pretty sure thats incorrect. There was another car that was badged as a 4.5 but I'm pretty sure it was a turbocharged 3.5 liter. Also, what car did all of the BMW log style manifolds that the turbo e30 guys are using come off of?

Obviously not sequential unless it's a eally bizarre design (judging by the twin manifolds)

Good one, I actually have parts from my M106 engine for sale on here. There are probably a few dozen of these cars on the streets in the US, many more have been wrecked and crushed before anyone ever knew what the cars were. But yeah, the 745i Turbo which was made until about 1986 was the last production turbo. Mine is a 1984 model with the M106 engine that has about 275 horses untuned. With an adjustable WG, you can get about 330 or so very conservatively out of that motor without any other mods.
