im staying in va beach, but I am curious what rents go for in ghent? also what about homes (garage necessary in both cases)

I was just at 20th and colley yesterday, went to a skate shop there then skated at a spot a couple blocks away

rent can range from 550-800 depending what your renting and what scale.

Buying can be a little pricey however i believe one can almost pay their mortgage (depending on payment plan) by renting extra rooms to EVMS students. i been looking at houses in West Ghent area and its not too common to find a house with a garage.

damn. def need a garage. or at least safe off street parking.

I don't really know what borders ghent. I'd assume the downtown commerce area is one border.

in buffalo we have neighborhoods like that with gentrification and high rent, however if you go a block or two outside of it you can still get cool architecture without paying the inflated rents/mortgages. what are the areas like that here?

I looked up the local college, (at least the only one I heard of) ODU and didn't find any programs on architecture nor urban planning, which sucks as those are typical avenues in which I can find the information I'm looking for

Don't listen to this guy. Did you even read what he was looking for? He's looking for like the EXACT opposite of what you suggested. haha

Ghent is probably what you're looking for, and the best way to find it would probably be to ride out there and walk/skate/bike around the area and look for the for-rent signs or contact an agent.

went to cogans wednesday after skateboarding, while waiting for rush hour to pass

cool atmosphere, nice beer variety (though some a bit pricey, they still have pbr cheap for when I don't feel like spending money). I could see it being fun.

my buddy's girlfriend's friends are meeting up at The Pub today, so I'll be checking that out as well (and while it sounds cool, british themed bar, I'm not sure it's what I'm into but whatever I'll check it out).

Also, I believe chilled ponds has skate and shoot today from 11:30-1:20, so hopefully I'll be able to get down there for that
