Re: Anywhere to drift?
Ok so im hoping this thread gets locked right after this post or at least heavily moderated to avoid the usual,
Yes to answer your question there are tracks,
Summit Point WVA
VIR Danville area VA
Pungo Events (if they will have anymore)
Myrtle Beach SC
Kannapolis Intimidators stadium NC
Street Life Tour OH
Check the following for more localized events:
www.lookoutdrift.com
www.drift411.com
But to also answer your question they are NOT open to general track use, it will need to be a sanctioned insured event that will most likely cost quite a bit and need alot of drivers in order to cover the costs of renting a track and having insurance.

Re: Anywhere to drift?
Well attendance was usually piss poor and the track and insurance usually gets more expensive every year, so combine the two and you get coordinators that lose money out of pocket.
make no mistake that if a venue could have high attendance consistently then it will survive. Back in 03-04 when we (lookout drift/USDrift) used to rent a chunk of Cloverleaf Mall parking lot in RVA we had high attendance, awesome track setups (for a parking lot anyway) and cheap rates, but thats not the case anymore, new owners and what not, a few members on here cant attest that we were not lacking cars by any means and they stayed strong, now people dont want to travel at all to make a track day.
