Depends on the car and condition, how many steps are needed, and how the detailer chooses to charge (hourly/by job).
Waxes are for the older crowd these days. Coatings are the newest thing. Semi-permanent protection and correctable layer.

... You have my attention. I've been using polymer spray waxes primarily for the last few years (e.g. Duragloss Aquawax). Easy to apply, good protection, but short lived.
This is the first I've heard of any new type of product like this, I'll get to googling...
