Re: 01 integra Idle issues
I'm trying to remember if a purge control problem will cause symptoms like that. You probably want to fix than anyway because you'll want to get inspected at some point in the future and get rid of that CEL.
Reset the ECU and see if that changes anything, mostly that will tell if the problem is something having to do with a stored long term trim or something else. I'm guessing that won't actually show anything, but it's always worth a try.
See what happens when you unplug the IACV also. Are you having the same problem when the car is idling cold and idling hot?
I'm rusty on my Honda idle regulation, but I'm pretty sure that the relevant sensors are TPS, coolant temp, and maybe IAT. The TPS is only used to detect when to enter or leave idle regulation strategies I think. Coolant temp has a big effect, so even small problems with the coolant temp sensor can effect the idle. I can't say much about the IAT because I can't even remember if it's part of the closed loop idle regulation or not.

Re: 01 integra Idle issues
Im planning on replacing the purge control valve but the onle problem is trying to find one.... the only way to get one is to buy one directly from honda or tryin to find a used one....
Ill try reseting my ECU too. It seems to idle out when the motor is actually hot and if i come to a stop and it starts to idle out, if i give i some gas to raise the rpms it tends to go back to normal idle.... but im planning on cleaning everything satuday to see if i can get it back to normal...

Yeah, clean that stuff out and report back. There are some really good troubleshooting flowcharts in the factory service manual if you're interested in trying that at all. I think they have normal sensor values to verify while testing also.

Re: 01 integra Idle issues
It's possible the timing is off from belt stretch, although the ECU should be able to compensate at idle.
But, do the timing belt while you're mucking around in there. Then you can check timing and be doubly sure of what you're dealing with while you're trying to troubleshoot everything.

Re: 01 integra Idle issues
a lot of people don't do this;
perform an idle learn on the veh.. disconnect the battery terminals and touch them together for 10 seconds...
reconnect the terminals and let the car idle threw 3 fan cycles then shut off..
start back up and let er run.. see how it does
