They also make a mount kit to put in a 350. And you can get those motors cheap! for that.

Get the car for 500 and spend another 1000 and have a 12 second car almost stock motor (not stock for the car but the motor would be stock)

im positive it has a turbo , and im going to go look at the car with a friend tomorrow and take it to the shop he works at and put it on the lift to check everything out on it , also does it matter what year the pathfinder , frontier, or xterra is?

I think that the 350 small block would be a neat conversion, but if you're going to swap in a V8, may as well do it in an FC, because the chassis is way more fun than the Z31 chassis.

Anyway, turbo Z31's are fantastic cars for the money though. Just find another VG30ET, although people will surely suggest all sorts of esoteric crap to replace it with. Fact is the VG30ET is great for the following reasons:

-It's a USDM engine. If you use an RB, you can't go down to Autozone and order a new water pump or whatever, and you can't find cheap parts in junkyards. The VG30ET will be a cheap engine to own and work on.

-It's capable. I know of people making over 500hp on their SOHC turbo VG's, and you can make 300hp+ very reliably on the stock engine (in good condition) with a few bolt-ons.

-It's durable. You see a lot of cheap high-mileage turbo Z31's for a reason. They keep running long after their owners have traded them for something newer and shiner looking.

Anyway, they're great cars if you appreciate them for what they are, which is a fun sports car. It's not a world-beater, and it isn't much of a drift platform either. It's great for spirited drives and the occasional stoplight battle with a stock WRX who thinks he's hot shit.

They have a reputation for awful handling which is UNDESERVED. They handle pretty well stock, a little better than a C4 Corvette, and w/aftermarket goodies they can be very capable indeed, athough still not an FC.
