22r turbo questions.
got a 92 toyota pick up, believe the motor is a 2.4l 4cycl, so the names is an 22r right ??
so the question is would a turbo off of a 4 runner with the same motor the 22r might bwe
22rte work on the truck. Please lmk I didint know if anyone had any expeirence doing what I am or the 4 runner either or would be insightfull.

a 2.4 is the 22RE, the 22R is carb'd.
Yes the Factory turbo 22RTE will also work on this setup, however be advised that the turbo is very small, not very efficient and you most likely wont benefit much from the addition. On top of that your looking at a very old turbo that you will most likely want to rebuild anyway.
So...do yourself a favor and save a little more money (if you dont have it) and get with LC engineering or someone reputable that can make you a manifold and go from there with a decent turbo, imho

I have had many trucks with 22rec's in them and have looked into this(going turbo) many times. Your best bet is a built 22r from lc's or do a 350 swap.And yes I have had one of those also

thanks for the help .. yea I found a site with the lc kits but their around 2900$ so shit on that lol no way to be cheap. thanks dudes
