5spd conversion questions
i'm thinking of doing a 5spd conversion on my 95 auto 240sx. i've read about it online but i want to know as much as i can. what parts will i need? should i do it myself, get someone that knows how to do it, or take it to a shop to get it done? i'm know this is probably a dumb question (i'm a noob when it comes to cars), but i don't want to make any mistakes. i would appreciate your help guys . thanks.

Re: 5spd conversion questions
Parts Needed:
5-speed tranny
Driveshaft (the auto driveshaft will not work)
Clutch
Flywheel
Clutch Master Cyl
Clutch Slave Cyl
Steel braided clutch line (recommended)
The swap is rather easy save the part about dropping the tranny since the bolts are a biatch to get to. You also have to cut some holes and bypass the shift lock. You can get a good steel braided clutch line from enjuku for like $50 and it'll bypass the bleeder block. The other parts can be gotten from a junkyard which beats the hell outta paying the online prices. BTW try pick-n-pull its a junkyard up in va beach. I was there last weekend and all they had was a completely stripped auto 240 but they said they'd have some new cars on the lot come this weekend.
By far the best nissan forum on the net: www.nicoclub.com
Zilvia is another good one but you'll get flamed for just about every question you ask and they're only helpful if you already know wtf your doing.

Re: 5spd conversion questions
You also need the bolts for the manual tranny, the bolts for the manual flywheel, clutch pedal assembly (WITH the clevis that attaches the pedal assembly to the master cylinder), tranny wiring harness will help with reverse lights and other stuff, pilot bearing, shift boot, center console trim and lots of hand cleaner
