I did notice that the little metal strip on the sensor was scratched. Could that be what's causing the problem? I haven't been able to test the sensor with the multimeter. Where should I get the + and - contacts from?
Here's a pic of it. Doubt you can see it but oh well.

Somewhere along that cable there will be a connector. It's usually tucked out of the way somewhere, but it's usually within a few feet of the sensor. I can't remember how Honda usually does that, but I would look for a grommet or whatever where the cable might enter the body, and then the connector will probably be on the other side of that grommet. That's usually done so the connector doesn't have to be waterproof because it's already somewhat protected by the grommet from water ingress.
I don't think that scratches would tell you anything, unless the scratches are a sign that the sensor has been hit by debris and damaged.
