Id check to make sure everything is tight. Does it make the noise on a cold start? Or at all times at idle?

Because pretty much all short rams sound like that. If it wasn't his first intake install, he'd likely know that already. Part of that is airflow through the filter, and part of that is engine noise resonating through (and out of) the intake pipe. Glad you could come out of the classifieds section to defend him though...?!

A intake doesn't sound the same on every car. There is a huge difference on a 4 cylinder and a 6 cylinder

So the sound of air being sucked through a filter and the resonant engine noise is totally different between a 4 and 6 cyl? Really? Wow, I never knew that two cylinders could completely change the way an engine works.

Does a 6 cyl intake whistle show tunes or something like that? It's an intake, air goes through it and makes noise. Engine noise comes out. I'm not sure what you're really trying to argue here.

Alright dumbass, All of my cars I have had Did not make a humming noise at idle. I have installed many intakes in the past. They have never made a humming at idle. Since I have a V6 I suppose it is pushing more air through intake to cause the humming.

Nevermind, it's not worth arguing about. Enjoy the intake. Report back with any other strange noises after you install the next bolt-on part.

Will do, wish people could just answer a question without being a smartass. I just have never heard any of my cars make the humming noise at idle.
