I'll ask my dad, a Master Ford Tech, but you're pretty much doing what he taught me. Try a known good ign. module.

Theres no ignition module. Theres an ignition coil, which gets it signal directly from the PCM. The PCM is not outputting a signal to the coil. The PCM will not output a spark signal if it detects something wrong with other sensors. I need the Ford PCM manual to tell me which sensors to check and in which order. So far I've replaced the Crank pos sensor, the cam pos sensor, and the ignition coil.

btw, I have the Ford Factory Service Program (which doesn't include the PCM manual, stupid) and I have the factory schematics. I'm an electrical engineer, so I'm very well versed with electrical systems, but I need some help from the PCM manual procedure.

its probably the distributor shaft...its a common problem...usually they start squeking and seize up...it will make the car randomly cut off and not start at all...call advance...they have them in stock..

this car has a distributorless ignition system. The coil gets it's spark signal directly from the PCM, and the PCM generates the spark signal based on the signal from the crank position sensor. I'ver repleaced ALL of these items, cranksensor,PCM, coil, sparkplugs and wires, and I've tested continuity from the harnesses to the PCM and grounds.

They are talking about the cam sync. There is a shaft that is like a distributor that runs the cam sync. Its on the passenger side of the motor above the water pump. You can take the cam sync off and check to make sure its not broke inside. If everything looks good crank the engine to make sure the shaft turns

I've already checked it. Even if it were broken, the coil would still make spark. The cam syncronizer only controls the timing of the fuel injection.
