Automatic Transmission Troubleshooting help
I have a friend who brought her car to me today and I'm tryin to help her out. Here's the problem. In drive, her car isn't shifting at all, so when she took it out on the highway she was at about 6,000 rpms at 45mph... Anyone have any clues on what might cause this? All other gears shift fine Fluid is good to go. I don't know a damn thing about automatic trannys except how to take it off and put it on. Any ideas?

Might try cleaning the filter. Not sure if that tranny has one, but many do. Look for a square panel on the bottom of the tranny. Drain the fluid and remove the panel to access the pick-up and filter. May have some crap in it. Same thing happened to a prior vehicle of mine.
