It doesn't really matter what tons of people in the Honda world do; there are tons of people in the Honda world who are complete idiots and who try REALLY HARD to never do things the right way.

Get the ECU chipped with a P30 program (with the knock sensor disabled) at the bare minimum.

Understood and yes very true....but the argument for the sake of the ecu whether the user is using (p28,p30,p72 etc) is not the culprit more so the wiring. You and I know the fuel maps will not affect the functionality of vtec.

It will affect VTEC, yes. You shouldn't need a new one unless the one you have is damaged. Secure it properly (however it mounts) and see if it still works.

let warm up for 10-15 min. see if it engages. if not check your vtec solenoid or your ecu. see if any wires are pulled out or anything.

how hard is the solenoid to replace? my vtec isnt working either and i have a spare solenoid laying around. Do i need to replace the gasket thats on there or can i just swap them out with no problems. Is there a way to test the one that on there to make sure its good before i go swapping shit?

theres no immobilizer in the p2t ecu
