Re: b20 swap
Right on..well a motor will cost between 5-700 tranny should run 300 mounts linkages and other misc. Add another 300 pkus your ecu and jumper harness will run another 200 alk those numbers vary on who you buy them from what condition and what year motor. Then it'd be good to change all your fluids so I'd bet on $1500 give or take

Re: b20 swap
I'd recomend getting another Z6 and build the broke one. Save a lot of money, less mods to your car, and a motor and tranny you can depend on, but find parts cheap and easy. Go boost or NOS with the built block.

Re: b20 swap
ive done these for people in the past with no issue, so if you have any questions pm me. its wise to have money set aside for shit that could break or need to be replaced. last swap i did the owner had to replace both lower ball joints and both axles. id have at least 2k ready to go before i were to do the swap if i were you. its also perfect timing to do the t-belt and water pump on the new motor. but off the top of my head rates for parts are
899-950 for b20z
300-600 for trans (depends on which trans)
150 for linkage
200 for new autozone axles without cores
75 for a p75 ecu (i wouldnt even bother with chipping the p28 for this)
185 for oem timing belt/water pump (not 100 percent sure on this)
275+ for a clutch kit
flywheel cost escapes me currently
chances are if you get the motor from an importer it will be from an automatic hence the clutch/flywheel

Ive bought numerous b20s and never paid over 600 for any of them.. give either JEI or Jspec Auto a call im sure they can give you a decent deal on everything.. I got a high compression b20z and b16 trans from jspec with linkages, itr flywheel, axles, and the rear t bracket for my eg sedan for right around 1,200 if im not mistaken.. maybe $1300 but that ata the high end..
