The one Ramey put in that he said didn't need a washer used a conical seat to seal.

Also...hose clamp...hose clamp...I guess I'm walking the two miles to the hardware store.

Here's the type I usually use, but I get them somewhere else and don't pay that much for the stainless ones. Yikes.

I've used hex head stainless plugs before also, they look pretty similar to a common bolt with a slightly shallow head.. Those are slightly dangerous though because they're easy to put a big wrench on and tighten the living shit out of.

Just drive, nothing bad will happen. Might sound a little funny.

How positive are you that it won't overheat my trangs? I mean, the opening is right there facing the trans pan, and so close you could just barely get an O2 sensor between the pipe and the pan.

It will be fine to drive to the store if its only a short ways away. you wont get enough heat in the pan like that once you are moving with how cold it is.

Ah, ok, I see now, he meant drive to the hardware store, not drive to Ramey's.

Thanks guys. If anybody asks me why I'm strapping a nickel to my exhaust, I'll just tell them I'm shaving weight.

I'm sure people have probably seen you do more confusing things with that car. LOL.

You know...I found a box of these things that are used for tieing heat shielding to exhausts in my apartment. They're like hose clamps but they don't have a screw (instead you just pull the other end with pliers, basically they're metal zip ties). I wonder if that would work....

For about 5 years I drove with only 1 wiper because the driver's wipers on these cars basically gets 90% of the windshield and the passenger wiper had stripped its spline. I just told everybody that it was the 1-wiper racing conversion (a phrase my friend first attributed to it, wish I could claim full credit).
