LOLLLLLLLLLLLL, waste $2k-3k on a swap for a stock honda engine...when youcan fully build the d seires for $2-3k and make around 300-400whp.smh

I'm an "All motor" guy, but I'm going to have to side with DecentCivicZ6 on this one.

I oringinally had the gsr tranny on my boosted gsr and made a lot of trips to richmond. The highway driving sucked balls. I switching to an LS tranny for the longer gears and a lighter ITR flywheel to counter balance how fast it revved up and it was a good match

Basically if you are going to have long gears get a light weight flywheel. It worked for me and the car seems just as fast as it was with the gsr and the gas milage is a lot better since I am at lower rpms on the highway

between the two types of shift forks in the d-series trans, i would pick the alum ones over the steel ones any day. i would rather replace a broken shift fork then a gear set.

nope. si or ex, as everone has stated. d-series si and ex are comparable to a b-series ls trans.

here is his page with d-series trans gear specs
http://home.cinci.rr.com/mistab0ne/tranny.html

^it doesn't include other trans that you could pull gears out of.

the shortest hybrid d trans is, using stock gears:

cable trans b000 case
1 - 3.250 = standard d first
2 - 1.944 = si cable second
3 - 1.346 = zc
4 - 1.066 = vx/cx 3rd gear 92-00
5 - .878 = zc
FD - 4.43 = ZXi

^good luck finding that final drive and third gear though, well outside of buying a whole transmission. but if you want to throw an aftermarket final in the mix, there is the SRR 4.7 final.

1-2 = si/ex
3 = zc
4 = cable trans dx
5 = si

but i could be wrong.

there is a Diff one...using a taller first gear, about the same as the K series 2nd gear...possed to be best for turbo car...I cant remember all it tho...seen on dseries.org. but yeah you guys that are stuck on DX....go for it...not our loss. ive been there with both, and by no means the DX does NOT HELP. its to fucking long.

Ya, you're not hurting my feelings. I was just trying to share a few facts instead of "he said, she said" shit.

...but to each his own.

i was always told that the 1-2 could not be swapped out? would be news to me if you could.

other then the S3T trans from a TDM car which is a 3.230. the first gears in d-trans are all 3.250, which would make the S3T trans ~100-200 rpm longer. which would only be a blink of an eye when in boost, considering how short a 3.2+ gear is.
