Default CEL 2000 type r

so im on my way to dmv today and my cel comes on. i go into dmv come out start my car and it comes on again. i check the code and its code 22 which is vtec oil pressure switch, i do no have any drivability issues and i can still engage vtec, so whats going on? i also started it again and the light is off now. should i be concerned and replace the switch or what?

change your oil. drive it till it comes on again.

dont replace the switch. its probably doing its job.

its only been like 1800 miles since my last oil change, oil levels is fine, and why not replace the switch?

sometimes you can have an intermitten problem with a sensor that will go away.

if the sensor was faulty you would have a constant code of either oil pressure switch circuit voltage too high or too low. ( normally)

i would change the oil just to make sure there is nothing in the oil causing the sensor to give a false reading.

yea i know, and i also know i wouldnt be able to engage VTEC if the switch was bad i just dont want to cause any damage to this motor just because of what it is. the lights not on anymore, but its still throwing the code i just want to make sure im not going to fuck anything up

heck the wires to it. They are right by your coolant lines and might be a little burnt or loose.

2 steps ahead of you, i unpluged the sensor and cleaned it too, there was gunk in it so i figured it wouldnt hurt

this is what happen to mine, same code
