Re: check engine light
no its not going to be a vaccum leak a vaccum leak would cause a runabliity problem i think on the fords the oil dipstick isnt seated right can cause it but check for a very small exhaust leak that would cause bad gas mileage but no runability problem and for the boy with the mass air flow that would cause the truck not to run on fords

Re: check engine light
What do ya do CHAHONDA you try to help but.... By the way I think you are dead on...It's not that I know those vehicles in particular. It's just in my umpteen years of working with vehicles that had a lean code is rule of thumb check for vacume leaks, then fuel pressure. I don't care if someone else says the flux capacitor was the problem on his sisters car. I know what years have taught me. But I would like to know what they find that fixes the problem. Sometimes I wish I could see these cars rather than doing internet diagnostics. Also sometimes I wish only qualified techs or at least a knowlegeable guy could post... Sorry I was on a rant but sometimes ya just gotta vent. And my comments aren't directed toward anyone on this thread. Just a general reaction to the guys who claim the wheel bearings are the cause of that rod knock! HINT TO OWNER. a can of carb cleaner works wonders in finding a vacume leak!!!
