lol. well sad to say but the clutch bit the dust tonight on the way home so i guess my problem will be solved or at least i hope it will when i take the trans off and replace the clutch and what ever else needs replacing. thanks for the help though.

Replace the flywheel also. If you've had a clutch failure you don't really know what you're going to get for flywheel condition, and you shouldn't mix friction compounds on the same surface either (just like brake pads).

If you are using an aftermarket cable, it could have stretched- especially if you're using a ridiculous pressure plate.
