They ended up using Ross pistons which I believe use the factory rings.

See now to me that sounds a little more reasonable. A built 12V with some good headwork tends to make about the same hp/boost as a stock 24V. 700+whp at 22psi is off the charts high.

I thought a 12v VR6 head with oversized valves/porting still didn't flow as much a 24v.

It doesn't. Basically there is nothing you can do to a 12V VR head to make it flow as well as a stock 24V head....

You can get somewhat close, but not quite there. Either way, my point was that 700whp at 22psi is a rediculous overestimate regardless of what's done to the motor.

Very true. That'd be one hell of a big turbo to make that power (at that boost level) and it would make for a narrow powerband.

the motor wont last, only person i know personally to have a VR-T got a blow by in less then a month, which was a low mileage bottom end, and 700WHP? sounds sketch to me, but hey man its your car, your choice, id say stir clear. What do you have btw?

I've known multiple people with VR6T cars and Jeff is the only person who got blow-by soon...

Yeah mine is fine....no blow by. They're actually pretty solid motors. They can make a lot of power very reliably.

When the 12v was orignally designed it was planned to be a diesel and we know how stout they are.

I'd have to call BS to this. I am fairly certain that the VR6 was not designed to be a diesel engine. It was designed for the corrado and the heavy ass passat to pull VW away from just being an economical car/engine. If it were designed for a diesel engine then please provide some proof
