Bad advice. Ghetto rigging FTL. Do what Yell88CRXsi said and get the right thing from Honda. Do it once, do it right.

Stop posting irrelivant nonsense in here. In ten years the odds of him having this car are slim, and I doubt your ghetto rigging will last longer than OEM parts. Sorry.

A fix that lasts ten years for a well known problem is a good fix. Do it the right way and move on to the next thing.

Your problem is the little plastic pedal stopper is broken. The stopper is located on the brake pedal assy where to switch meets the pedal. You'll see a hole (now) where a plastic stopper should be. Go to Honda and ask for PAD, PEDAL STOPPER P/N 46505-SA5-000
It should only cost you $2

up for this. same thing happened to my hatch. i stuck a carraige bolt and nut in there so it would never go bad again. but i bet this is it

look at the pedal itself then follow the pedal assembly up until you see a piece of steel thats got a hole in it sticking out of the side also you can locate the stoplamp switch and follow it to where it meets the pedal assembly thats where the little bumper once was
