What model car are you doing this in? Thats a factor as well. If its a 92-95 use a full z6. You will have to deal with timing issues much more using a y8 head on a z6 block. Also vitaras will have your compression in the mid 7 range not 9. The real difference between the heads are y8= more midrange due to better combustion chambers the z6 head offers a better topend... from the research Ive done anyway. On my setup I always use oem y8 headgaskets. And if you plan on running aftermarket valvesprings, please do not use stock retainers....Im speaking from a bad experience.
