Re: Ebay Turbos
On turbomustangs.com and many other sites there are MANY people running the XS Power turbo's with zero ill effects. A guy locally with an SRT4 on srtforums bought one and made 400whp and ran a 11.9@122. He had the turbo checked out by Mid Atlantic Turbochargers in Richmond, and they said the turbo was well within all spec's.
BTW, most of the "horror story's" are hoaxes. Ever notice how its someones brothers sisters best friends cousin who knows a guy who talked to the guy and got his pictures online? Yeah.

Re: Ebay Turbos
I hear good and I hear bad.
I'm actually starting to think the SSAC turbo's arn't that bad. But I'm just going to spend the extra $$$ and get a Garrett for the peace of mind.

Re: Ebay Turbos
I doubt it. The thing about SSAC turbo's, they have about a 90% success rate.. Meaning 1/10 people who buy one is an unsatisfied customer due to some kind of turbo failure. If you want to take a gamble and buy one, the odds are on your side.

Re: Ebay Turbos
From what I've been hearing. If you run a oil restricter on these turbos, you won't blow the turbos to all hell.
Never tried it and never will. I got my turbonectics for cheaper than any SSAC turbo.

Re: Ebay Turbos
If you look around you can find a good deal on a better turbo. I got a used garrett for $500 with a bunch of IC piping, fmu, dsm smic, dp, all the couplers and clamps, oil line, log manifold, wastegate, bov, oil pan, and some other shit. i got this kids entire kit that was on his golf for 500 and the turbo was a garrett with about 500 miles on it. Just check forums and ask around. That way you can sleep easier knowing your car doesnt smoke on the way to work due to blown oil seals in the turbo.
