yeah you need a tranny...normal for a taurus...run you between 1000 and 1500 for a used one and labor...i can do it monday if you want...

good god. 1500 for a tranny is outrageous. i can get the whole damn car for that price. go to the junkyard theyre only 200 tops wtf people are crazy. 1500 plus labor unless you have a shop and are certified and guarantee it for 50k miles yea thats a good price. but if not way too high.

He does have a shop... Sure, you can go to a junkyard and pick one up for a reasonable price, but it doesn't sound like he is very technical.

trannies run anywhere from 450 -650 with a warranty and low mileage...hes in a rush and i dont have time to hunt for a cheap one...labor is about 600...plus fluid/filter/...so that falls between 1000 and 1500 doesnt it...he will get a warranty from the junkyard and my labor is lifetime...
